1 Way Driving School specialise in teaching learners to drive.

Whether you’re an absolute beginner or had some previous driving experience, our friendly professional instructors will make you feel at ease from your very first lesson.

If you’re a beginner you will normally be driven to a quiet area and your instructor will help you to familiarise yourself with all the controls, and go through all the basics.

If you have had previous driving experience your instructor will normally assess you on the first lesson.

You will cover the full DSA syllabus for learning to drive, and our instructors will help you prepare for the Theory and Hazard Perception Test as well as your Practical Driving Test.

In our experience, cramming 40 odd hours tuition into a very short period of time is a difficult way to learn. The success rate is lower. We would suggest 'accelerated learning', whereby you start off with 2 hours per week, and when you have passed your theory test, increase your weekly lessons. Then on the advice of your Instructor book the test and together you can work towards the test date.

This course has been designed by the D.S.A. (Driving Standards Agency), and is aimed at newly qualified drivers.

As a new driver you are more likely to be involved in an accident within the first year of driving than at any other time.

The six hour course covers driving on different types of roads and different driving conditions which you may not have covered during your L driving lessons.

You should cover the topics below.

  • Town driving.
  • Country roads.
  • Dual Carriageways.
  • Night driving.
  • Adverse weather conditions.
  • Motorways.

On completion of the course you will receive a certificate from the D.S.A. enabling you to obtain discounts on your car insurance.

Aimed at qualified drivers who may not have driven much for some time and wish to ease back into driving with a little guidance before going solo once again.

Perhaps you wish to brush up on certain driving skills such as Reversing, Parking or Night Driving? Whatever your requirements, we can organise a suitable lesson or course to give you the confidence and skills needed to get back into things or indeed correct a problem. Courses will be structured around your needs after an inital assessment.

Refresher courses can bring back the confidence and get people driving again.

Professional coaching can get you going again quicker and more especially, correctly.

1 Way Driving School recognises that there is a big difference between driving with an instructor and driving alone on a motorway at high speed, so the driving school offers motorway specific lessons for newly qualified drivers.

These lessons will help you gain the confidence required to travel at high speeds, and we will be teach you how to overtake other vehicles and use sliproads safely.

Safe Motorway driving requires different skills to those used on other roads. It requires earlier planning, more awareness of the constantly changing traffic around you and to be able to anticipate other drivers actions.
